Life is filled with choices

Six years ago, when drifting was the order of day, you should have seen me, never hesitating to hit that gear from 3rd through 4th to 5th, just to see how far I could push this golf GTI to it limit, never taking my eyes off the road, stealing glances at the speedo meter with the aim of hitting that 180 kilometer per hour mark. Hands so glued to the wheel, ears so attentive I could even hear the ticking sound of my wrist watch. That was how far I was willing to go, just to a win a race for fun. 2 years down the line, as growing lads, we use to hold our breathes under water for seconds, just to see who will come out victorious, in terms of how long one could stay under water. We could have done otherwise, but at that moment, we never saw ourselves doing anything else. Life, they say is short, yet it presents us with millions of choices. You could choose to fall in love or fall in hate, get inspired or be depressed, work smartly or work hard, ace a test or flunk a class, be in the club or be in the church, make babies or make art, speak the truth or lie and cheat, be the developer or be the tester, dance on tables or sit in the corner with a straight face, get paid or get laid, stand tall or chicken out. What else can you do, aside living within the walls of nature? Trust in God and learn to forgive yourself. Life is a divine gift, breathe, and embrace it.

The Act Of Forgiveness

Mortal as we are, turn to sin against God every single day, this is undoubtedly evident in our thoughts, our actions and our utterances. As kind and loving as he is, he always forgives us, so why is it so tough for us to forgive our fellow man? If we are truly created in the image of God, then this presuppose that forgiveness should by default be part of our nature, yet we find it very difficult to live in accordance to that which form an integral part of our existence 

We are all born as innocent into the world, none of us has the power to control the forces that blow by blow, chip, dent and strip our innocence away from us. We are all born with the power of choice, how we fill these cracks and dents is up to us. Disappointments can feel so much alive in us in the form of anger and malice, and if we sink low enough, we can become blind to the pain we inflict on others. That notwithstanding, we can also choose to take another road, and no matter the brutality we need, or our dark nights of dismay, we can choose to listen to a different voice. A voice that makes us who we are, a voice that is so clear that repetition of a sentence will be a total waste of time, a voice that is forgiveness in itself......this is the voice of God. Just like our inner consciousness, a little attention to this voice will leave its contents flowing through us in a form of anything, but malice. Take a second and ponder on his words, you will come to a realization that forgiveness after all is not a big issue. There is nothing more powerful than the act of forgiveness.

Beyond What I See

If this question is posed to everybody "what are your plans for life" I believe almost everyone will be quick to answering it. At a point in time, I thought of being a basketball player,  also thought of owning my own car company, where I will be specialized in building world class car engines, and when all is said and done  will stand in front of my 6 bed room house and say to myself  "well done Maxx". This was my plan for life. The question here is "has anybody thought of life's plan for us?" take a minute, sit back and think of it. Let me break this down for you, life's plan for you, is how you find yourself today. It could be bad, but certainly not the worst. Just like metamorphic rocks, life takes us through stages and different processes; it takes God, determination and courage to survive these metamorphoses. They say 'life is how you make it" but I believe 'life is how you face it". After hanging out with the guys and girls, when the fun is over and everybody is gone home, the actual thinking is left between you and your pillow, whatever you think of before morning that is exactly how your life is going to turn out. Our parents just gave birth to us, and like the saying goes "we are responsible for our actions" in the same vain "we are responsible for our lives" avoid friends with bad habits, speak less and listen more, make mistakes, with that you will learn, be curious, with that you will mature, experiment, with that you can make choices and always try and see what lies beyond what you see, with that you will feel alive.

It Hurt To Love And Not To Be Loved In Return

It hurts to love somebody and not to be loved in return, but what is more painful is to love somebody and never find the courage to let the person know how you feel. Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people, so that when we finally meet the right person, we will thank him and be appreciative for that gift. the worst thing that can ever happen to a man, is to love somebody and never find the courage to let the person know how you feel. a sad story in life, is to watch the one you truly love, walk away with a another person, knowing strongly that, that could have been you, and you could have even handled that situation better. no matter who you are, there is somebody somewhere who is designed solely for you. never be afraid to love, approach with courage and be turned down, at least you got the courage to let the person know how you feel, and each time he/she sees you, something deep in 'his' heart will tell him how you once felt and if possible how you still feel about him/her. starting a new relationship is not difficult, but the fact that you have to start from scratch is what breaks most of  us down. may you have enough love to keep you human.
